Cam Hall
Cam’s background in civil engineering spans over two decades. Having obtained his Bachelor in Civil Engineering in 2008, he has practiced in the civil and geotechnical engineering fields. He has worked in large and small consultancies, and been involved in domestic, commercial and local government projects.
He is highly experienced in geotechnical investigation, analysis and design. Geotechnical analysis capabilities include investigation of slope stability, foundation bearing, liquefaction analysis and rock fall assessment and providing practical development options for at risk sites.
He also specialises in hydrology (rainfall assessment), and hydraulic modelling of flooding. This includes dam breach analysis, flood hazard assessment and building floor level design for domestic and commercial subdivisions.
A large component of Cam’s portfolio comprises investigation, design and construction monitoring of new rural irrigation dams. Including inspection, reporting and dam breach modelling of both naturally clay lined and synthetic (HDPE) lined dams.
He is involved in earthquake prone building analysis, remedial design, and domestic structural design and analysis for light commercial and residential buildings.
Bob Hall
Bob has been a Civil engineering since 1975.
His early experience was with the NZ Electricity department with structural design of high voltage transmission line infrastructure over New Zealand. He transitioned into working with the catchment boards in regional New Zealand, and later Region Councils with river engineering, hazard analysis and regional flood modelling. In 1994 he gained a Masters Degree in Natural Resources engineering. His thesis dissertation focused on flood and debris flow hazards at Peel Forest and the Ahuriri River.
After his masters completion he developed his own engineering consulting business in natural resource engineering. Providing support to domestic and rural clients for resource consent applications from local and district councils. Later providing wider civil consulting services for the structural design of domestic and commercial structures.
His specialties include:
Civil:
natural hazard assessment
domestic geotechnical assessment
dam design and construction monitoring
river engineering (flood protection, irrigation scheme analysis)
accretion claims
Structural:
light commercial design
initial seismic assessment and detailed engineering evaluation
structural retrofit of unreinforced masonry buildings within Timaru and South Canterbury region
